GED

GED exams are offered throughout the year at our Lynn and Danvers Campuses.

Am I Ready to Test?

The GED Exam is more than seven hours long and is administered over two days. Therefore, it is highly recommended that testing candidates assess their readiness to pass before registering.

There are services available at North Shore Community College to help you:

  • Adult Learning Center - For any student over 16 who does not hold a high school diploma, the Adult Learning Center offers services and courses designed to improve math and reading skills and to prepare you for the GED. Contact Susan Schauffele at (978) 236-1227 or sschauff@northshore.edu.
  • Tutoring - Tutoring services are available at a variety of NSCC locations.

You may also contact another preparation center in your area:

  • Massachusetts Job Training Salem Learning Center, (978) 744-2417
  • Operation Bootstrap in Lynn, (781) 599-8543
  • Catholic Charities in Lynn, (781) 581-3350
  • Sawyer Free Library in Gloucester, (978) 281-9763
  • Peabody Prep Center, (978) 532-1080

Or you may study on your own. GED Preparation books are available at most bookstores and local libraries. For more information on study materials and test information visit the GED web site.
