What happens if I withdraw from some of my classes (but remain enrolled in others)?

Your financial aid is NOT affected for the current semester. You receive financial aid based on the number of credits you were enrolled on the freeze date (approximately one week after the beginning of the semester).

If you add or drop credits after the freeze date, your financial aid is not changed!

Can my financial aid for next semester be affected?

Yes, your financial aid for the next semester may be placed in jeopardy. This is due to not making satisfactory academic progress as it relates to financial aid.

Students must complete a minimum of 66% (approximately two-thirds) of their attempted credits successfully each semester. For example, if you attempted 12 credits and withdrew from 6, you only completed 50% of your attempted credits.

If you drop below 66% completion you are placed on financial aid probation the next semester you attend. You still receive the financial aid for which you are eligible during a probating semester. However, you must earn good grades and complete your courses at the end of the term in order to have the probation dropped.

Important! If you are already on financial aid probation and you fail to complete 66% of your attempted credits, you will be placed on financial aid suspension. This means you are NOT eligible to receive financial aid during that semester.
