North Shore Tech Prep
Mission
What is Tech Prep?
Tech Prep is a federally funded initiative under the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Act of 1990. Under this act, grants have been made to consortia of local educational agencies and post-secondary institutions for the development of career pathways to a two year associates degree, a two year certificate or further post secondary education.
About Our Program
North Shore Tech Prep establishes articulation agreements between high schools and post-secondary institutions, establishing career pathways that transition seamlessly from high school to college programs of study, creating opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school.
A variety of workshops and seminars, relating to industry trends and high-demand career opportunities, are planned by Tech Prep staff throughout the academic year to engage high school students in career-related activities and discussions that will help them to make well-informed decisions relating to their academic and long-term career and professional goals.
All articulation agreements will need to be renewed on a yearly basis. Each agreement is valid for up to three years after a student?s year of graduation. New articulation agreements can be submitted throughout the academic year. Print out a new request cover sheet to be submitted with supporting paperwork for review by NSCC faculty.
All renewals will be submitted for review in January 2008. Print out a renewal request cover sheet indicating any curriculum changes, if any, and submit with necessary supporting paperwork for review by NSCC faculty.
